BlackBerry loses 423 million dollars for three months

BlackBerry has reported a big drop in the company's revenues , and a wider loss from the sale of its smart phones , the demand for which continues to slide .
Known Canadian manufacturer of smart phones has reported it lost 423 million dollars in the fourth quarter last year , while revenues for the quarter fell to 976 million - a drop of 64 percent from 2.68 billion dollars as had a year ago .

It is the first time since late 2007 that the company's quarterly earnings have fallen below 1 BlackBerry billion.

BlackBerry income is for the year 2013 recorded a figure of 6.8 billion dollars , or 38 percent less than the previous year , when the company had recorded 11.1 billion dollars .

The company has sold 3.4 million units of smartphones in the fourth quarter of last year , and 2.3 million of these units were based on the BlackBerry device 7 , and not among the new models Z10 , Z30 or device based on version Q10 platform
